Spot Ship is beginning to develop a reputation as a company that strikes good deals. This is now spreading beyond founders with strong negotiation skills to part of the company culture that the whole team takes pride in.
While many founder guides focus on negotiations with investors, I'll be focussing on the techniques and approaches that have worked for us in getting great & happy outcomes with:

Session leader James Kellett is Co-Founder and CFO of Spot Ship, a SAAS platform bringing the world of ship broking into the 21st Century. The company makes use of next generation computer vision and machine learning algorithms to channel data into a robust cloud SQL database. A broker using Spot Ship can fix a charter in minutes, as opposed to the days required with incumbent technology. The company is based in the UK.
Since winning the Patrick Turner Prize, in the summer 2020 IVC, James has gone on to raise a pre-seed round for Spot Ship and grow the team from two to six full time employees.
James holds an INSEAD MBA, an MA degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge and a CFA designation. Prior to INSEAD, James spent six years as an analyst in equity hedge funds before leading the partnerships function at the unicorn Improbable.
