A dive into the world of R&D funding. What is out there? Is it simply free money or is there more to it than that. This session will explore some of the pros and cons of going for (and getting) grant money, how it compares to private investment – and how you can make the most of it.
Session leader Mike Todd is the Founder and CEO of SaaS business Near-Life: the first interactive video and VR authoring tool for everyone – recently recognised as one of the world’s top ten learning tools.
He has extensive experience in media and technology. In addition to his involvement with software, he has worked in film and television: creating award winning documentaries for the likes of ESPN, PBS and the BBC. He has previously spoken about the potential of immersive learning at the UN World Humanitarian summit and his work with Near-Life has been recognized for excellence in learning design at the Learning and Technology Awards. He has extensive experience working with the international responder community, most recently delivering a major immersive learning project for the WHO Emergency Medical Teams programme, funded by Innovate UK.
